  WHAT IS INTERACT?
Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people in their secondary-school ages. It gives them an opportunity to participate in fun and meaningful service projects. Interact clubs perform at least two projects a year, with one serving the community and the other furthering international understanding. Along the way, Interactors (Interact Club Members) develop their leadership skills and initiative while meeting new friends.

The word Interact stands for international action. The first Interact club was formed by 23 students at Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida, USA in 1960. Nowadays, there are more than 150,000 young people in about 100 countries belong to some 6,500 clubs.

The four elements of Interact are as follows:

INTER International Understanding
A Aims at Service
C Communication
T Training of Leadership

Through the service activities, Interactors learn the importance of:
- developing leadership skills and personal integrity
- demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
- understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
- advancing international understanding and goodwill

INTERACT CLUB IN LA SALLE COLLEGE
Sponsored by its mother club, the Rotary Club of Kowloon, La Salle College Interact Club is one of the Interact clubs in Rotary International District 3450. The Club and other Interact clubs in the same district are coordinated by a district committee called the Joint Interact Council.

Interact club has a long history in La Salle but still, it is very popular among students with more than 200 members. It is one of the most popular service groups in the school. All activities of the club are planned and organized by a committee of 12 students. Besides organizing internal activities, La Salle College Interact club will also join the Interact clubs or service groups of other schools to organize joint school service project.

This year, with the introduction of enhanced information processing, the information of members are administered efficiently and updated frequently. Communication between Interactors and the Club will be done mainly through the Internet. With synchronized news & announcements on the front page of our web-site, there is no need for members to pay special attention to circulars and they can know what's happening inside the Club through our web-site. With the revolutionary online enrollment system, members, as well as class representatives, can save time in enrolling in our activities. It provides a quick and direct pathway for member to register. With the improved policies of allocating quotas in all activities, more members can have greater involvement in different kinds of activities organized by the Club. With better leadership training, junior members can develop solid foundations required for becoming future leaders.

Last but not least, all of the above are for members only and we hope that members can gain invaluable experience and find enjoyment in serving others.
