November 2001 - CARITAS BAZAAR
Caritas Bazaar is an annual
event organized by the Caritas. Our school participates in this charity
activity every year. This year is no exception. This function was jointly
organized by the Catholic Society and the Interact Club.

The preparation period started a few
weeks ago. Committee Members and
Working Members of the Organizing
Committee stayed after school in LG1to prepare for the Bazaar.
Before the Bazaar, there was a pre-sale
session for the Teachers on 2
November (Friday) in the Staff Lounge
after school. This pre-sale session was
welcomed by many teachers.
Committee Members and Working Members started their decoration work and
stall set-up
work on 3 November (Saturday). They started to move the goods from La Salle
College to the
Fa Hui Park. Their job started at around 1
PM. Since then, their work has not stopped.
Most of the members left the Fa Hui Park
for home to take a rest of only a few hours
at 12 AM.

The Bazaar took place on 4 November
(Sunday) in the Fa Hui Park. After saying
prayer to our Lord and cheering at 8 AM,
the Bazaar started finally. We have
participated in two competitions: the Stall
Decoration Competition and the Stall
Game Design Competition. As the theme the Bazaar of this year is ‘ ’, our
decoration and stall game design were related to this theme. The
adjudicators visited our stall
at around 9 AM. Two of our Committee Members, James Chan (6C) and Peter
Leung (6C),
explained our decoration and the stall game design to them. We have captured
the
1st-runners-ups in both competitions! All students tried their best to sell
goods to the visitors,
some of them even forgot about their lunch.
The Bazaar was ended at around 6 PM. All students showed their tiredness.
However, they
all felt very happy as they really did something to help the people in need.
This would be
definitely an unforgettable experience for all of them.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, the Committee Members would like to
thank all those
who have offered help and support during the preparation period. They would
especially like
to thank the Principal, Rev. Brother Thomas and the Teacher Advisors: Mr.
Chan Tong, Mr.
Chan Yun Kit and Mr. Chiu Wing Fai for their invaluable support and
guidance.
